Bible Verses

Last year at Christmas my mom asked all the girls in our family to memorize a Bible verse every 2 weeks and to post it on Beth Moore's website.  Then at the end of the year if you posted your verses you could attend her Bible verse memorizing conference (obviously that is not the correct name, ha!) for free!  So come January we will be traveling to Houston for the conference.  Since I won't see them at Christmas it will be great to see them then!

Here are my 24 Bible verses!

1.  Daniel 10:12  Then he continued "Do not be afraid Daniel.  Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard and I have come in response to them."

2.  Philippians 4:6-7  Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your request to God.  And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

3.  Ephesians 2:10  For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

4.  John 15:8  This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

5.  Joshua 1:9  Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.  

6.  Psalm 18:30  As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord's word is flawless, he shields all who take refuge in Him.

7.  Jeremiah 29:12  For you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

8.  1 Peter 1:18-19  For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver.  It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

9.  Colossians 3:12 Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothes yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

10.  Deuteronomy 6:4-6  Hear O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  

11.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

12.  James 1:2-4  Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters when you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its race so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

13.  Isaiah 40:31  But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

14.  2 Corinthians 12:9  But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ's power may rest on me.

15.  Proverbs 19:21  Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

16.  Romans 12:1  Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.

17.  Job 28:28  And he said to the human race, "the fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding."

18.  Matthew 18:20  "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

19.  2 Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

20.  1 Chronicles 16:34  Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, His love endures for ever.

21.  2 Timothy 1:7 For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self discipline. 

22.  Revelation 1:8  "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

23.  Numbers 6:24-26  "The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."

24.  Luke 2:11  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is the Messiah the Lord.

And there are my 24 verses!  Not all of them are memorized but I'm getting close, mom!  Thanks for pushing, encouraging, and loving me!
