Trying out the mom thing...

The other night I decided I wanted to go on a run when I got home from work. I also thought it would be a great idea to give Beth a little free time (well, only having to take care of one child) so I took Amelia with me! I had to practice opening and closing the jogging stroller before I left because I was nervous I wouldn't be able to work it once I got to the parking lot, haha! Let me just go ahead a give a shout out to moms because it is hard work. Just to get a stroller out of the car. I don't know how you guys do it! Way to go! But I did manage to get about 2.5 miles in with Amelia at my side! Thanks Amelia for letting me take you jogging :)

Her face may not say it here but she loved it! :)

A Trip to Mennonite Country

A couple of weekends ago Curt and I went with Hollis and Neely to Muddy Pond, aka Mennonite Country. We met another one of Curt's friends Grant and his girlfriend Sarah. It was a super fun Saturday of eating delicious food, seeing some interesting things, and hanging out with friends!

Hanging out at some restaurant with lots of knick knacks...no we did not buy any of those!

Watching sorghum be made...I think the guy got mad at me because I first asked about maple syrup--yes I had a brain fart and yes I know that maple syrup comes from a maple tree

Grant and Sarah, Curt and I, Hollis and Neely

Sorghum...I tried some of the finished product thinking it was going to be really yummy and sweet. I was wrong--it is bitter!

But Curt liked it!

Surprise Mom! And Happy Birthday :)

This past weekend Curt had to work all. weekend. long. So I decided that since it was Mom's birthday, I would surprise! And I actually think it worked! Probably because I only decided about 2 days in advance so I didn't have long to spill the beans!

I drove Thursday after work and then was able to spend all day Friday and Saturday with the fam. The weekend was so much fun! Friday morning we went for a family walk (we were going to ride bikes for Mom's birthday but it was too cold..darn. ha!) and Brynn road her tricycle. We met Grandma and Grandpa at Chick-fil-a for lunch and then ran some errands after. I got to see Whit's house, bake some cookies, and then we all ate at El Torrero's for Mom's birthday dinner. Yum! After dinner we made a last minute decision and went and got tickets to see Gone Girl. Remember how it was filmed in Cape?! So cool! Saturday was spent celebrating Semo. In the morning we went to the Homecoming parade, went to Redhawk walk, and then went to the game! It was actually a really good game! Saturday night we had a bonfire and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. We played Catch phrase around the fire and it was hilarious!

Sunday morning we went to church and then I headed back to Knoxville. Such a fun weekend! Happy Birthday, Mom! You don't look a day over 35!

Brynn tucked me into bed at night....it was hilarious! She acted just like a parent, hhahah

My drive home..what a beautiful day! Glorious as my mother would say :)

The Newest Member of our Family

Remember how over a month ago I was in that car accident... Well for the past 3 weeks we have been dealing with the other person's insurance and it has been a pain in the you know what!! First they were going to fix our car and it was in the shop for over 2 weeks getting fixed. Then they said it was officially totaled and we would have to buy a new car...and they didn't want to give us the correct amount for our car! Curt had to get mean. AHH! Well after a week and half we finally settled and then had to give the rental car up a week later. We started looking and decided on a Mazda 6. Good for gas mileage but big enough that in 10 years when we have children a car seat will fit in it :)

So introducing the newest member of our family...Pearl.

A walk in the Park

Last Saturday Curt was at work and Ryan was on a business trip so Beth and I took Amelia and Caroline on a walk/visit to the park. Amelia likes the umbrella stroller so I pushed her in that and Beth pushed Caroline in the big stroller. It felt like I was pushing my own child...then I realized I'm not ready for this yet, haha! But it was fun to take my nieces on a walk and to spend some quality time with Beth :)

Cape Visit/Emory turns 1!

Several weekends ago Curt and I made a trip to Cape to visit. We realized we hadn't been to Cape for a weekend together since April! Definitely long overdue. We got in late Friday night and pretty much went straight to bed. Saturday morning we woke up and all went to Ryan's triathlon. Curt and I didn't bring many warm clothes and it was in the 50's that morning! Curt wore a sweatshirt of my dad's from the 80's. Enough said. But the triathlon was a lot of fun! Saturday night was Emory's 1st birthday party! Emory loved her some cake. Happy Birthday Emory bug! I also got to see Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Tina, and Uncle Bruce...it had been a while! We were so glad we got see them, love you guys! Sunday after church we went to Perryville to visit Grandma Sally, and yes we did have some wheelchair races :) Sunday night we went and saw Whit and Ryan's house...it is really coming along!!!! Cannot wait to see it finally finished and have some super fun sleepovers :)

O that sweatshirt...

Do we look like a happy family of four?? ahah!

Go Ryan!

Curt always finds a tree to climb..
