2 Years Down--50+ To Go!

July 21, 2014 marked our two year wedding anniversary! Yahoo!! Since two year gifts are either cotton or china, Curt got some fun shirts, undershirts, and a gift card to his favorite Asian restaurant. That's thinking outside the box, right?! Curt made me these picture frames I have been wanting for forever!! They are so pretty and so thoughtful! He also got me an Erin Condren planner--he knows my love for organization! Ha! We celebrated by going to a fun dinner at Chophouse after we both got off work! Happy Anniversary Curt! Love you so much, thanks for being a great husband, and can't wait to spend 100 more with you! Actually I don't know if we will make it that far... :)

Bright and early in the morning looking a little rough...celebrating with some coffee ;)

Aren't these frames soooo cool????!!!

Happy two yearx! Love you boo!

The Rents Visit Knoxville!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!

Last weekend, mom and dad visited Knoxville to see us AND to work on the house, yay!!!! It had been a while since I had seen them and it was such a good visit!! I love my parents so much and they are seriously some of the best parents in the world! Thank you Mom and Dad for all that you do for Curt and I and especially for working on the house!! I look forward to many more..... please????!!! Hahah! Okay enough sappy talk..

We ate a super fun breakfast at First Watch (mom loves this place) and it was delicious! We ran errands, dry walled, painted, ate yummy food, and enjoyed just hanging out! I didn't take many pictures--we must have been working hard, ha!

We had to take load to the landfill. Gross. And we had to wear these orange vests. Terrible. AHHHHH!

Dad's awesome drywall!

Workin' hard! Thanks Dad!!

I Do Love a Funnel Cake

Well, it was fair time in Clinton, TN. So of course we had to go!!! Curt, myself, Amanda, Clay, Andrew, and Mollie all went to walk around and enjoy the carnies. Ha! But we did walk around, eat a funnel cake, meet some political people (because apparently voting is happening soon??I need to watch the news more.), and watch Andrew ride the giant slide! I would definitely say it was a successful night!

Try #1. Fail.

Try #2. Fail.

Try #3. Fail. So then we gave up.

Andrew with his favorite candidate for mayor. Go Terry Frank. We will vote for you!

Yay for the fair! Doesn't Curt look cute with his hat on backwards ;)

And.....

Andrew loved it.

Grillin' Time

Curt started officially working 1 week ago from Wednesday. After Curt got off, Monica and Travis came over to grill out and celebrate! We just grilled some chicken but it sure was delicious. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to eat outside and relax! Afterwards we even played a game :) It was a wonderful summer night and made me so excited for when we actually get to grill out at our own house!!! Which by the way, is slowly coming along! Stay tuned!

First day completed!

Now it's relaxin' time!

Travis tried out the zipline :)

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

#Adventurewiththedavkinscontinue

Two weekends ago Monica, Travis, Curt and I hit up a minor league baseball game! We watched the Smokies play. I think they are a double AA (I don't know how you write that) team in Knoxville. The first 3000 people to enter the game got a free garden gnome but unfortunately we didn't make the cut, hahaaha! The game was super hot but we had a good time. After the game (which they lost, bummer) we headed to Market Square in downtown Knoxville for some dessert. It was beautiful out once the sun went down and we just enjoyed hanging out.

Lakin' it--Davkin Style

The adventures continue....this time to the lake! The day after the 4th Curt and I headed up to Travis' parents' lake house (I don't understand apostrophes). It was so much fun! I was wore out by the end of the day. I am pretty sure I fell asleep on the way home, then again that's not new for me, ha!

We...
played badminton
laid out in the sun
grilled
celebrated Travis' birthday
ate birthday cake
drove the boat around
jumped off a rock (Monica and I did not really want to do that one)
wake boarded (well I attempted--I believe I was described as a squatting frog)
saved a stray dog--we will forever remember you Gumby
played more badminton
had a bonfire

I would say that was a pretty successful day!

Happy July 4th!

Curt and I spent the majority of the 4th working on our house!! We knocked down a wall!!!! Afterwards we grilled out with Curt's parents and then went to Amanda and Clay's for dessert! Amanda did an ice cream bar! It was the perfect amount of work and play! Happy 4th of July!

Wall gone.

Paneling gone.

Molly and I had a tea party, she was hilarious!

Grandad loved his ice cream

Andrew's shirt describes my dessert :)

Sparkler time :)

Amanda and I have a lot of fun!

You can't tell from the pic but we had a great spot from their house to watch the fireworks! It was a great show!

The Adventures of the Davkins Begin

Monica and I made a list of all the things we want to do this summer on our way to go hiking. Curt and Travis even got in on the fun and so we decided we had to give our adventures a name and after approximately 4 hours of thinking this is what we came up with.. :)

Sunday after church the 4 of us headed to Cade's Cove in the Smoky Mountains for the first of our adventures! It was an absolute blast until about the last 20 minutes when we got pounded with rain! Well even that was kind of fun... :) We hiked 2.5 miles to this waterfall, jumped in literally freezing cold water, hiked 2.5 miles back, saw a deer super close to us, and saw a bear cub in a field! It was absolutely gorgeous and such a fun hike!
