Don't you layout and make Halloween Bark in October???

I counted up and I worked 7 of the last 9 days.  I was finally off today!  And the best part--I don't go back til Monday! Yahoo!!  In honor to celebrate I went and laid out by the pool with Mary Hunter, a friend/nurse from work!  Isn't it so normal to lay out in October?? haha! Surprisingly I was sweating like crazy!

After that I headed home but stopped at the store to get ingredients to make Halloween Bark! I used white almond bark and melted in the microwave and then spread it on wax paper, added my toppings, pressed them down slightly, and put it in the fridge to harden. I came back an hour later and it was done! I broke it into pieces and voila! Yes I already tried it and it is delicious!!!

Grant and Emily are planning on coming over tonight to eat some pizza and to try the dessert!  I'd say this was a pretty good day :)

P.S.  It is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you have had a wonderful day! Thanks for being the best mom in the world!  I love you!

This was the house I laid out at--it was awesome :)

It is still crazy to me that I am laying out on my mom's birthday--October 3!

Mary Hunter said she wanted to make the blog but by the end of laying out I looked gross so we decided
feet would do!

The toppings!

I decided it still looked a tad bare so I added graham cracker crumbs over the whole thing!

The finished product! YUMMY!

Date Night

Last Friday night, Curt and I had a date night! It was so much fun! I had worked some overtime that day so I got home about 4:45 and relaxed for a little bit.  Around 6 we left and headed to downtown Franklin.  I had never been before but it is such a cute area! There are lots of cute shops and really cute restaurants.  I told Curt we are going to have to go back during the day sometime so I can shop for Christmas presents! We ate at restaurant called 55 South.  It was super yummy!  Afterwards we walked up and down the streets and of course got some frozen yogurt at Sweet CeCe's.  Delish!  Then we headed home because we both had to work on Saturday and that alarm was going to come early. Boo!  But it was such a fun little date night!

Fall is Here!

I think I am a little late in getting my fall decor out but better late than never!  And my fall decor is pretty small but better than nothing...right???!  One day when we actually live in a house and have a little more money I can really expand my fall decor!  For now, in our little apartment, it is perfect :)  I am pretty sure last year my fall decor consisted of one pumpkin so I've got a little more! ahah!

Centerpiece-pumpkins, pine cones, and some leaves!  Guess it is a little hard to see, woops!

Coffee table

The mantle--a little bare I know but I do love those white pumpkins!

Our monogrammed pumpkin--this was our one and only fall decoration last year ;)

Meeting Baby Emory!!!

Friday when Curt got done with his rotation we loaded up the car and headed to Cape Girardeau to meet baby Emory!!!  It had been almost a week since she was born and I was dying to see her!!!!  We rolled in just in time to meet her before they had to head home for bed!  Baby Emory is precious!!!  And identical to Brynn as a baby. Seriously. Identical.

It was such a fun weekend of just hanging out, playing with Brynn, catching up with family, holding Emory, and even getting in a little fall shopping.  Thanks, Mom!  We obviously couldn't get out and do much because Emory still isn't allowed out of the house but it was wonderful to just relax at home :)  The big girls did get out on Saturday in the absolute beautiful weather and take a little walk! Absolutely wonderful!!  I was waiting for my mom to throw her hands up in the air praising God for the weather and family :)

I had so much fun getting to see my family and Curt and I were loving the delicious food!!!  Can't wait to see them again soon, I hope it's not too long or Emory will be full grown, haha!  Love my family so much!

Curt holding baby Emory!!

Mom wanted a family pic.  Even though we were all wearing sweats pretty much?? haha  This is literally a video taken and then we took a screen shot.  It was comical.

I think Brynn might take after her mom and be a cheerleader; I'm still pushing for tennis!

Sweet baby Emory

Yep, looks identical to Brynn

Take #1

Take #2 on our walk, much better! ha!

Playing dress up with my old dance outfits! So cute :)

Making silly faces; I'm pretty sure Brynn just ate a couple of M&Ms.

Cutest moment of the trip:  Normally Brynn will be a little iffy about Curt.  This weekend Curt asked if she would be his girlfriend and then she immediately parked herself in his lap and asked for a pic :)

So so precious!!

Trip to Knoxville

We haven't been back to Knoxville to see Curt's fam in a while so Saturday when I got off of work we headed that way and got in around midnight.  We knew it would be a quick trip but it was so worth it!  We haven't seen Amanda and Clay and the kids since June so it was great seeing them!  It was obviously great seeing Debbie, Mike, and Betty too but we had just seen them on our trip to Springfield :).  And of course we had a big family dinner to celebrate everybody being together!

Sunday morning we woke up and went to church, went to eat at Aubrey's for lunch (Curt's favorite!!), and then I took a nap before Amanda and Clay and the kids came over. That nap was definitely needed because those kids were rambunctious but that's the only way we would want them to be!! :)

We then ate a delicious steak dinner and enjoyed peach cobbler out by the pool while Andrew swam.  Yes he was cold but he was not about to admit it, ha!

Unfortunately then we packed our bags and everybody headed home.  Hopefully we will get to do it again soon!  It was a wonderful Sunday!

Me, Mollie, Andrew, and Amanda in the playhouse that Mike built.  I wish I would have taken more pics of it because it is awesome.  This would have been my dream growing up.

Clay and Mike grilling :)

Andrew and me :)
Andrew's favorite thing to do with my phone....swap faces!  CREEPY!!! haha! Actually I think I look pretty cute as Andrew :)

Andrew started karate.  He was teaching me moves!

And Mollie loves ballet :) this is her staccato spin move :)

We had a small photo shoot

Attempting silly faces

I guess Andrew left Mollie out of that one, haha

New Car!!

The only car I have ever owned is my Hyundai Santa Fe.  My parents gave it to me when I was 16 and I have faithfully driven it ever since!  I did love the bat mobile :) However, that car had 140,000 miles on it and was finally starting to have some issues!!!  We went to see about fixing it and when they told us how much is was going to cost we decided it was time to get a new car!

We decided on a 2013 white Jetta that uses diesel!  Now I just have to make sure and NEVER put unleaded gas in it!  I'm going to have to use a sticky note to remind me! ha! :)  It is suppose to get really good gas mileage so now those trips to home will cost way less! Yahoo!!!

We would have taken more pictures but it started raining :(

Canoe Trip

Yesterday I went on my first ever outing with work/nursing friends!  We went canoeing!  I have never really been canoeing so I wasn't sure what to expect.  But it turned out to be so much fun!  I picked up another Lindsay from work and we headed out to Lynda's.  She lives about 40 minutes out of town and near a river.  Once we got there we hung out for a while and Lynda had made brunch!  The food was delicious.  We had breakfast casserole, homemade banana bread, muffins, and fruit! Yummmm!!!  We then headed to Foggy Bottom to rent our canoe for the 2 hour trip.

Once we finally got in our canoe, the sun started blaring and I was thinking it is pretty darn hot.  Then the sun went behind the clouds and it was super nice.  Then the clouds turned really gray and I was thinking uh oh.  Then the storm blew in.  The rain came.  And down poured. For literally 45 minutes. We hurried to try to finish canoeing. AHHHHH.  But we had a wonderful time and were cracking up at the memories we were making! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of us after the rain but WE WERE SOAKED!

We went back to Lynda's house afterward and changed into dry clothes and hung out for a while to avoid traffic.  We then loaded up and headed home.  It was a great day!

Can't wait for next outing with these ladies!

Getting ready!  Lindsay and I thought for sure we would need to wear these when the rapids came!
The group-minus one!  Dawn, myself, Lindsay, and Lynda
Turns out we didn't need the life jacket.  But it was so peaceful out there ;)

And then some random dog came into our canoe because we hit rock and had to get out and push! hhaha!
